Best granny flats and home extensions builders in Perth
Fifteen Perth metro businesses where granny flats and home extensions are a primary line of work, ranked by a composite of ratings, review volume, recency and sentiment (see our methodology). Scores last updated 5 October 2026.
This list covers specialists only. For general builders who also take on this work, see best home builders overall. Order follows the composite score, so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews can sit below a 4.6 with more history behind it. Several entries have few reviews and are flagged as low confidence.
Picks are ranked by score and relevance to granny flats & home extensions, so a lower overall score can rank higher here.

Ranked picks
Home Venting Solutions - Rangehood and Venting Specialists
Why it ranks first
The top score rests on 285 reviews at 4.9, so confidence is high. Reviewers describe technicians solving tight-space and wall-to-roof switchover jobs that other companies turned down. It is a venting specialist, so it suits the fit-out side of an extension more than the build itself.
Pros
- CSIRO BAL 40 certified roof vents
- Same-day appointments are common
- Tidy, clean on-site work
- Named Schweigen and Falmec service specialists
Watch out: One reviewer found pricing steep.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, granny flats extensions
HomeLux Renovations
Why it ranks second
A 5.0 across 50 reviews with recent activity. Reviewers say Rob and the team turn up when promised, hold to the quoted budget and keep the site tidy, from laundry updates to 12-week full-house jobs. Repeat clients and referrals come up often.
Pros
- Delivers on time and to quoted budget
- Clear daily communication
- Handles older homes and strata requirements
- Welcomes design input
Services: custom home builders, home builder, construction company, granny flats extensions
NORMU
Why it ranks third
A 5.0 from 70 reviews, the largest review base among the pure renovation names. Feedback centres on a structured pre-start process, with Bame and Rebecca guiding colour, finishes and spatial planning and pushing back honestly on weak ideas.
Pros
- Step-by-step selections process
- Honest challenge prevents costly mistakes
- Works alongside builders
- Respects budgets
Watch out: Design and selections focus, so confirm who does the construction.
Services: building consultant, home builder, granny flats extensions, architecture firm
Kev Renovations – Luxury Home Extensions & Bathrooms, WA
Why it ranks fourth
A 5.0 from 20 reviews, mostly for big renovations and extensions in the Perth Hills. Clients report being consulted at each decision and minimal disruption over months on site. Medium confidence given the review count.
Pros
- Owner stays on site to oversee work
- Handles structural and non-plumb challenges
- Turns worn homes into modern spaces
- On time and on budget
Services: home builder, construction company, luxury home builders, custom home builders
Willetton Cabinets
Why it ranks fifth
Cabinet quality and project management earn most of the praise across 58 reviews at 4.6, with supervisor Travis named for keeping timelines. Sentiment is mixed though: two major jobs went badly.
Pros
- Custom cabinets to room dimensions
- Responsive owner and team
- Clean, professional trades
- Strong referral reputation
Watch out: One big project ran to 17 weeks with measurement errors, and pricing was called high.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, building consultant, granny flats extensions
MJD Projects - Renovation Builders Perth
Why it ranks sixth
Seven five-star reviews over eleven months, all naming Marcus as overseeing each job through to handover. Scope ranges from patios to full restructures. Few reviews, so treat as promising rather than proven.
Pros
- Owner oversight and transparent costs
- In-house design to construction
Watch out: Only seven reviews.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, building consultant, granny flats extensions
Add Value Building Group
Why it ranks seventh
A 4.7 from 15 reviews. Clients and trade partners credit Ciaran for on-time, on-budget delivery and for fixing issues months after handover. Low confidence due to the small sample.
Pros
- Hands-on leadership from Ciaran
- On-time, on-budget record
- Fixes issues after handover
- Well-organised sites
Services: duplex multi unit builders, home builder, construction company, building consultant
Lasting Impressions Home Renovation
Why it ranks eighth
A 4.6 from 24 reviews, with polished kitchen and bathroom work from a team of licensed trades. Recency is weaker, and one early review flagged slow quoting.
Pros
- Custom cabinetry made on-site
- Licensed electricians on the team
- Family business with longstanding staff
- Delivers on budget and timeline
Watch out: One complaint about slow quotes and communication gaps.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, granny flats extensions
Petit Home Improvement
Why it ranks ninth
All 12 reviews are five-star for extensions, second-storey additions and renovations, often early and on budget, even through Covid delays and tough council approvals. Reviews are not recent, so check current availability.
Pros
- Early and on-budget delivery
- Strong finishes
- Minimal disruption in occupied homes
- Clear cost control
Watch out: No recent reviews in the data.
Services: luxury home builders, granny flats extensions, custom home builders, home builder
Nautilus Co
Why it ranks tenth
Seventeen five-star reviews for Brett Walters, a licensed plumber, gas fitter and tiler. Reviewers cite punctuality, tidy sites and good value. Low confidence, and the scope looks smaller than full extensions.
Pros
- Plumbing, tiling and building in one
- Licensed plumber and gas fitter
- Punctual and communicative
- Good value
Watch out: Best suited to bathroom and wet-area work.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, granny flats extensions
SOL Construction
Why it ranks #11
Most reviewers praise Nick Del Borrello's hands-on supervision and finish quality across 13 reviews at 4.5. A recent review alleges delays, overcharging and unprofessional behaviour, and evidence is thin.
Pros
- Owner supervises personally
- High finish quality
- Custom builds and SDA villa experience
- Skilled trades
Watch out: A recent complaint alleges delays, cost overruns and scope disputes.
Services: construction company, building consultant, custom home builders, home builder
Persona Homes
Why it ranks #12
A 4.0 from 29 reviews. Clients like the quality, design flexibility and on-time handover, with repeat customers. Site conduct and slow defect fixes drag the score.
Pros
- Quality finishes
- Direct contact with designers and supervisors
- Flexible on design and budget
- Repeat-build clients
Watch out: Complaints about site mess, slow defect resolution and utility theft from adjacent properties.
Services: home builder, construction company, luxury home builders, custom home builders
Shower regrouting
Why it ranks #13
Three five-star reviews over seven years praise Peter's tiling and clean work. The evidence is very thin and not recent, and it is a tiling trade rather than an extension builder.
Pros
- Careful tiling finishes
- Tidy work sites
Watch out: Only three reviews, none recent.
Services: custom home builders, home builder, granny flats extensions
Design Renovate
Why it ranks #14
Recent clients praise punctual delivery, creative design and 3D visualisation before work starts. A 4.3 from 13 reviews, with older complaints about overruns and misleading portfolio images.
Pros
- 3D visualisation before work
- Evening and weekend meetings
- Considerate on site
- Punctual delivery
Watch out: Older reviews allege budget overruns and misleading portfolio photos. Ask to see real completed work.
Services: construction company, building consultant, architecture firm, custom home builders

Pros
- Five stars across 16 reviews
- Keeps projects on budget
